A Letter To The DVD People
So the other day I bought Lock Up on DVD starring Sylvester Stallone. Stop snickering, it's a pretty good movie. Anyway, when I got home I got really mad about it. And this wasn't the first time I'd felt anger towards a DVD.

First off, why the hell does this DVD have one of those outer paper covers? You pull out the case and it's the exact same cover. What a waste of time and paper! Maybe if the covers were different it would be neat and special, but nope, I've now got two pictures of Stallone in a white tank top. Three, if you count my Over The Top DVD.

Moving on, on top of the DVD case is one of those barcode stickers that you need long nails and a saudering iron to get off. Luckily, Lock Up was only sort of locked up with one sticker on top. Sometimes you'll get a DVD that has one on the top, the botton, and the dreaded side location. These stickers are great for the retailers to prevent theft, but it shouldn't take me the same amount of time to remove the bloody thing as it does to watch the movie.

So after an intense sticker-removing training montage of my own, I was able to get the goddam thing off.

Opening up the case we see just a disc, featuring Stallone in his white tank top again. Now this is where I got really mad. I mean, I started swearing out loud all by myself. The disc is fine, but there's a little area on the left for notes. Why don't movies come with notes anymore? What jerk off DVD producer actually thought to himself, "Hey, instead of some liner notes or photos, let's just reproduce the cover on paper and wrap it around the DVD case"? Sure, I only paid $8.99 for this disc, but really, give me something in that empty space. Hell, even include a pic of Stallone from Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot, I don't really care. Just put something there!

So that's the end of my rant. I just wanted to share, because I know there must be more people out there that are driven bonkers when opening a new DVD. If so, lemme know.
