Stallone's Cola of Choice?
I watched a Stallone movie last night called Cobra. You've probably seen the DVD in all the cheap bins at all the video stores for about $6. I'm glad I only paid $2.99 for it. Not a great movie at all, but it raised a very interesting question:
What is Sylvester Stallone's Cola of choice?
The image above is from the first action sequence of the movie. Cleary you'll see that Pepsi is a major sponsor of this motion picture. There are several more Pepsi references within the next couple minutes, and there's even a large glowing Pepsi sign in one of the apartments of the movie.
Our next image is from a scene about halfway through the flick, where Stallone's partner gets a can of cola from a Coke machine. Does this mean we have dual sponsorship of the movie? Stallone's partner then deliberately faces the can at the camera as he drinks it as if to snuff Pepsi in the face. Almost like he's saying "Thanks for getting the movie started Pepsi, but Coca Cola can take it from here".
After this scene I turned to my buddy Johnny and joked, "Wouldn't it be awesome if there were a poster for RC Cola later on?"
Be careful what you wish for.
Sure enough, not even fifteen minutes later in the movie is a large RC Cola cooler. So c'mon Stallone, pick a sponsor and stick with it. We all know that Cobra was bad, but was it that hard getting funding for it? Geez.
