![]() Oh yeah, I'm sure you can remember a time when you heard someone say, "Ugh... not another Batman movie..." True, while The Empire Strikes Back, Superman II, and The Karate Kid Part II are all superior to the originals, nobody ever got excited over Jaws 2 or Ace Ventura 2: When Nature Calls. But the times have changed, and today's movie-makers are purposely setting you up for the sequel. Recently, this trend was spearheaded by that dreadful Batman Begins movie. In 1989 Batman fought the Joker on the big screen because the clown was his arch-nemesis. Movie-goers had to wait a couple years for The Dark Knight and so began the trend. ![]() And while we're on the subject of sequels, what ever happened to just naming it #2? What's with the thirty-word titles for everything? If there was anything that Spider-Man 2 did right then it was the title. Have you actually seen a kid ask their parents to go see The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian? They trip all over the words! Just call the fucking thing Narnia II! "Mommy, can we go see Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore? Argh. I can't imagine myself ever making a sequel to Behind The Fan Club, but if I did I'd just slap on a #2 at the end.
