I don't ask for very much at Christmas time. Gifts aren't really that important to me. I don't like getting piles of random presents that I'll never use and end up in my yard sale. Sure, it's the thought that counts... but who really thought I'd ever wear a pair of Budweiser pajamas? There are a few DVDs and books I'd like to see under my tree on the 25th, but here we're gonna focus on some stuff that you can't get at your local Wal-Mart or HMV. This is my Christmas wish list.
Uncle Jesse Doll
Every year I put the Uncle Jesse doll at the very top of my Christmas list. And every year I have yet to see one under my Christmas tree. Not even in my stocking. And yet I still believe in Santa Claus. Have mercy. I've done a lot of research on Full House dolls, and there's a set of Jesse with Becky and the twins, as well as a set of Jesse with Joey, Stephanie, and DJ. I know you're surprized that I don't have these already in my house, but it's something I've just never gotten my hands on. There's also a large Michelle doll that talks and says phrases from the TV show.
The Jesse doll comes with a guitar that opens up to show pictures of the Tanner family. I guess it's kinda like the framed photo of the Tanner family hanging up in my house.
Whatever happened to predictability?
I got all my sisters with me!
Bionic Six on DVD
A couple years ago I asked for the Ruby-Spears Superman cartoon to be released on DVD as one of my Christmas wishes. And that wish came true. This time, I'm asking for Bionic Six. If you don't remember this little gem of a cartoon, then shame on you! Well, not really. I mean, I'm sure you have better things to do than remember all the old cartoons of our youth. That's why you come to MY website, so I can remind you of them all.
Bionic Six was a family of super-heores, battling it out against the evil Scarab and his minions. The animation was pretty cool, the music was boss, and the characters were awesome. The toys were made of die-cast metal and were pretty heavy. I was a big fan of this show as a kid, and not many people seem to remember it. It only took two years to get Superman on DVD, so here's hoping we can get Bionic Six in about seven or eight months.
Friggidy Ding-Dong is only $10 (Plus shipping and handling)
They storm the crease like bumblebees!
A cup in Boston
This little wish isn't too far-fetched. The Boston Bruins have been playing some solid hockey this year and, thanks to the superb goaltending of Mr. Tim Thomas, they actually have a shot at being a playoff contender. Now that Marc Savard is healthy, and Milan Lucic is playing better than ever, they're actually scoring goals. Having the #2 overall draft pick doesn't hurt either.
A Stanley Cup in Boston wouldn't cement the actualization of the existence of Santa Claus, but if the Montreal Canadiens win the Stanley Cup this year then I'll know Santa isn't real. Seriously, some days I don't know what's stronger: My love for the Bruins, or my detestful hatred towards the Habs.
A new Aerosmith album already
I'm not talking about another Greatest Hits.
Not another album of cover songs.
Not two new songs on a soundtrack with four classic re-issues to back it up.
Not a boxed set which is 60% hits and 40% b-sides.
Nope. I want a brand new, all original, balls-in-your-face Aerosmith album. And I don't care if it ends up sounding like "Just Push Play". I just want some new original material before I die. (Note: if you've seen how this band overcomes personal adversity, you'll agree that I'll proably die before Steven Tyler does, and he's darned-near seventy years old)
The band rumored that they were gonna release an album full of unreleased, finally finished demos from the Get A Grip era. I'd be down with that. However, they've been talking about doing this album since about 2005... so you can see how it ended up on my wish list. Somehow I just don't see it happening.
Greatest Hits Vol. 11? Dream On!
And that right there is what I hope the jolly fat man brings me for Christmas this year!
