July 19, 2006
I'm in a pretty great mood. It might be the few cups of coffee I've had today. It might be the nice sunshine coming in the window. It might be that I'm listening to some good tunes. Fuck, I really don't know. It's been a busy week thus far. Last Saturday was not only Fan Appreciation Day, but also the bachelor party for my old roomate Josh.
Fan Appreciation Day was doomed from the beginning. Don't get me wrong, it was lots of fun and I'll do it all again next year. I just should've known something was fishy when I had to reshedule it only three weeks before the acutal event. I was expected to make an appearance at my Family Reunion and it was 2 hours away. Now we all know that this fucker can't be in two places at once (someday I'll learn how), so something had to give.
The morning of July 15th was scary. With only 6 hours until Fan Appreciation Day started I looked out my window and saw a grey sky. A tear nearly came to my eye as the rain started pouring down. Seamus, my cat, was sitting inside my Castle Greyskull with his head poking out of the jaw-bridge. He knew I wasn't a happy camper. I called up Johnny San to get some advice about the rain. He and I were planning on playing songs from our New Ditty CD at Fan Appreciation Day. He was worried too.
But then the sun started coming out and we knew we were saved.
Well sorta.
We got to the park for Fan Appreciation Day and it had turned into a really beautiful day outside. Here in Kingston it was also the weekend of the Buskers Festival, so I was expecting a smaller turnout than normal for Fan Appreciation Day. Well 7 people is way smaller than hoped for, but we all had fun anyway. Thanks to Sean, Dustin, Peter, Adam, and Johnny for coming out. We played some dodgeball, ate donuts, and then sang those songs. It was all recorded for a future DVD or live album. We'll see what happens with that.
Josh's bachelor party was everything you'd expect from a bachelor party. We all got pretty drunk and in true fashion, talked to strangers. My one buddy Rob with a chick magnet with Josh's crown on, and my other buddy Adam just wanted everyone on the street to know that he's the champion. Josh's wedding is on August 5th, and I'm his best man. It's gonna be a great day for him and his fiancé Christy.
Well, I'll have to see how the rest of the week pans out. I'm so busy re-tooling this website and putting things into motion for the next year. Talk to you soon.
