Yep. It really happened.
The rumors are true. I married my long-time girlfriend, Dana Roper, on May 17th, making her Mrs. Ryan Fan Club.

It's funny when you think about me as a married man. Not that I won't make a good husband or anything like that, but when you consider the fact that I originally started this Fan Club thinking it might be a great way to meet girls, it's incredibly nice to find myself attached in matrimony to the woman I love in the year that marks the Tenth Anniversary of me recruiting Ryan-Fans.

Dana and I have been together for nearly six years. When someone asks the question Why do you love the person you love?, I can't answer that it's because of her smile, or because of her beautiful eyes. I can't say that I love her because of the words she says, or even the way she holds me. At the risk of sounding sappy, or mushy, or just downright un-Ryan-like, when I'm around Dana I feel like I can do anything. And that's how I want to spend the rest of my life.

The wedding itself was very "us" in a sense that it wasn't boring and traditional. We were married by a Reverend who refers to himself as "Oscar The Grouch" on the telephone, and he made all of our guests feel comfortable, welcomed, and really part of our special day. Both the Bride's Maids and the Groomsmen wore pink, even if it wasn't the all-powerful pink Converse All-Stars. There were Special Wedding Editions of the Ryan Fan Club 'Zine on each table. Heck, even Superman made an appearance at our wedding, guarding over the cake and gift table.

After an incredibly tasty dinner my Best Man, Johnny San, pulled his guitar out from under a table, and much to Dana's surprize I serenaded her with a new song I'd written just for her called Right Here With You. The entire room broke out into tears, myself included.

Our first dance as husband and wife was to the song "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton. Then our large gathering danced the night away, celebrating the joining of our love. We ducked out of the party to spend some time alone in a fancy hotel suite, sipping on champagne in a hot tub as we sang Eddie Murphy's "James Brown's Celebrity Hot Tub" song to each other. Then we did all that other great stuff newly married couples do. Let's just call it "Crocodile Mile" or something like that to keep it all PG-13.

So lastly, I want to thank not just everyone who was a part of our wedding day, but also everyone in the last six years that has supported us and helped us get to this truly fantastic point in our lives. Whether you're family, friends, or fans, you've always been behind us. So here's to the next adventurous chapter in the on-going saga that is my Fan Club.

And special thanks to Dana, because if she didn't marry me, I wouldn't be married to her.
