![]() Buckcherry LIVE! November 7. Stages Night Club (Kingston ON) I've been a big Buckcherry fan since they first came out with Lit Up back in '99. It was actually my buddy Adam who got me into the band and I can't thank him enough. I think their second album Timebomb is their best work even though not too many people seem to know about it. This show was in support of their newest album, 15, and we're sandwiched between Montreal and Toronto on their Crazy Bitch 2006 tour. The opening band, Die Mannequin, was pretty solid. I normally don't get off on 3-piece bands. I'm a big fan of the frontman who puts on a show for the crowd. Die Mannequin were high energy for sure, but they were at their best when the singer put her guitar down and just rocked the mic. Buckcherry hit the stage, opening with So Far and Broken Glass from the new album. Me and my girl have a tradition of asking each other what song it is that we really wanna hear at a show. Obviously they were gonna play Crazy Bitch and Lit Up, so I said I would lose my mind if they played Porno Star. Sure enough they did. And sure enough, I lost my fucking mind. From there we were pulverized into rock n' roll heaven with such great songs as Ridin', Dead Again, Next 2 You, Crushed, and Everything. Buckcherry's love ballad Sorry went over really well with the crowd at Stages. I seriously believe if they released this song to radio it would be a huge hit. Teenage girls would eat it up in a heartbeat. Normally I can't stand too much talking to the audience. I hate when a band says "Okay, this song is called _________" between every song. Josh Todd did a great job of keeping the audience entertained, and during Crazy Bitch he explained to us the difference between a Crazy Bitch and a Regular Bitch. I won't give it away. Go see them live to learn the difference. You'll be glad you did. The show's finale Lit Up was scorching. It was hard to tell whether it got a bigger pop from the audience than Crazy Bitch did, but it was still huge. What could be better than hearing the whole crowd chant "Co-Caine... Co-Caine"? After a huge finish Buckcherry left the stage with no encore. The crowd was a great mix of older rockers and college rockers. There was just the right amount of girls dressed in revealing outfits. Any more and I wouldn't have paid attention to the band. Fuck, there was some chicks making out right behind me during the show. As amazing as Buckcherry is live, I'm sure Josh Todd understands why I had my head turned away a couple of times. Of course I bought a T-Shirt, and a couple beer too. I meant to pick up Die Mannequin's CD, but totally forgot on my way out. I can barely talk today, and that's a good sign that the show was fantastic. I had a great time, and I'd go again in a second.
