Alice Cooper - Along Came A Spider
Alice's new album brings us the tale of a killer named Spider who is killing eight victims to create his own spider. But things go all screwy when he actually falls in love with his 8th victim.

The Good: This is a really neat album from start to finish. It's a good mix of classic Alice with some tastes of the Brutal Planet Alice too. Of course, we're indulged within Mr. Cooper's twisted sense of humor. Only he could write a lyric about locking a girl in the trunk of your car and actually make you giggle about it. And the lyric book is just fantastic, with a nice tip of the hat to old horror movie posters. Listen to: Wake The Dead, The One That Got Away, I Am The Spider.

The Bad: There ain't much on this album that will ever see play on radio. And that's more of a shame than anything. While this album is great as it's own story, there just isn't anything on here that is about to be a "hit". But good rock music by aging rock stars doesn't get much play anyway. Avoid these songs: Killed By Love, I'm Hungry.

The Verdict: You really can't go wrong with Alice Cooper, unless you count 1989's "Trash" album. Seems like Alice is more interested in making records that his fans will enjoy, rather than making records that Billboard will enjoy. And I'm totally down with that. I stand my ground on listening to this from start to finish. It's a concept album, and hard to pick apart for hit singles. I found it most enjoyable when doing some drawing. If you dig creepy stories, give it a listen.
