![]() The Good: I was really suprized by how much I enjoyed Shia LeBoeuf. I thought he would hog the limelight, but clearly that wasn't the case. Hell, he could continue the Indy legacy and I wouldn't mind so much. Also, and this wasn't a surprize because the Indy flicks are great for it, I totally loved the designs of the props. The plot was good... nothing great... but definitely enjoyable. The Bad: Why the hell does Spielberg feel the need to throw aliens into all his movies? I was okay with the crystal skull being of alien origin, and even the council of crystal alien skeletons at the end, but that spaceship launch just didn't belong in an Indiana Jones movie. And the wedding sequence... Indiana Jones is supposed to be the ultimate ladies man. He should never settle down with just one woman. They could've named the movie Indiana Jones and the Church of Forever Wedlock. Basically, the movie was great until the last ten minutes or so. The Verdict: I went into the new Indy movie with low expectations. It's hard for the movie to fit in with it's classic counterparts, considering the way movies are made has changed so much in the last twenty years. It's a fun movie, with some great action sequences, and the humor is right at the heart too. I can almost overlook the last ten minutes, and when I watch it again on DVD, I might forgive Spielberg for marrying Dr. Jones off. But probably not for the stupid spaceship.
