Jimmy Hart's "Outrageous Conduct"
Towards the end of the "Rock n' Wrestling Connection" of the 80's, this little *ahem* gem was released by the WWF through Epic Records. It features WWF bad-guy manager Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart... uh... singing.
The Good: Side "A" of the album is trying to be some 80s pop-rock and it doesn't work at all. But once you get to side "B", you get some funny tunes that Jimmy does "in character", showcasing his arsehole, in-your-face attitude that we associate with him. Songs like "Hippo Hips", "Barbara Streisand's Nose", and "Tammy Wynott" are laughable in the good way, and almost make the first side tolerable. Almost. Well, no. Not really. I dig the cover (a lot) but I can't for the life of me figure out why font changes in the title to spell out "RAGE ON". What the fuck does "RAGE ON" even mean?
The Bad: The whole first side of the album is pretty much a waste of time. The first song is a different mix of Jimmy's song "Eat Your Heart Out Rick Springfield", which was done way better on the WWF's Wrestling Album. "Blackboard Jungle" is such a horrible song that we're honored to also have an Instrumental version of it on the record too. Seriously.
The Verdict: If you're a hardcore wrestling fan you'll want this album... even if you never bother listening to it. The cover really is pretty cool. Hell, I paid twenty-five cents for this record at a Salvation Army Thrift Store. Apparently it sells on eBay for about $200. I'd sell my copy for that in a heartbeat.
