![]() The Good: Nintendo clearly didn't mess with the formula that made the original Punch-Out so successful. Once again, you play as Little Mac and you rise up the ranks of boxing by defeating such monsters as King Hippo, The Bald Bull, and Soda Popinksi. The gameplay is great, transforming the classic controls to the Wii without much of a learning curve at all. The characters look better than ever before too. Oh, and apparently you can unlock Donkey Kong and fight him. The Bad: Where's Mike Tyson??? That's my only real gripe with the game. To me, it just insn't Punch-Out without his name lingering around. They could've even had a special prison fight with him. And I want the Pay-Per-View rights. The Verdict: There's really nothing new here. The original 80s cartridge was a great game, and so is this. Try not to think of Punch-Out for the Wii as being a sequel, but more like a new beginning. The story's the same and so are the characters and their weaknesses. It's just a lot more accessible for the new generation. Thumbs up for that! (Now if we could just get a Super Mario Bros. game that sticks to the basics...)
