![]() The Good: To begin with, many of the songs in Legends are the actual recordings of the songs. I can't tell you how good it was to hear Axl Rose and Steven Tyler singing, as opposed to someone who was trying to sound like them. Then there's the guitar battles. In career mode and 2-Player Battle Mode you actually do things to screw each other up. Your opponent can break strings, or overload their amp, or simply have their difficulty moved up in the middle of the song. And that's what I love about this game. The Battles are new to be sure, but they don't detract from the basic premise of the game. Kinda like how Super Mario Bros. 3 went beyond what the original game had done. Oh, and being able to unlock Slash in the game and use him as a character is fantastic. Slash always looked like he jumped out of a comic book anyway, so he was perfect for this game. The songs are a good selection, and in some cases a nice surprize. The big seller though is the Guitar Battles. Great for get-to-gethers and parties. The Bad: Where the hell is Bon Jovi? All I really want in life is to get drunk and play video game guitar with Ritchie Sambora. The Verdict: Chances are you're playing this game already, and it doesn't matter what I think at this point. But if you were like me, and were apprehensive about Legends because the 80s game sucked sour frog's ass, then you can trust me and check out Guitar Hero III.
