| ![]() TMNT The Good: The action in TMNT is everything you'd expect from computer-animated cartoon ninjas. It's slick, it's sleek, and it's just about everything that couldn't have been done in the original TMNT movies. Raphael and Leonardo finally get in the fight that we've been waiting 20 years for, and Master Splinter is sly and witty while remaining his mentor-ish self. I loved the last scene where Splinter is at their display "case" and you can see relics from all the past Turtles movies. Nice touch. The Bad: So if I were trying to re-build a bajillion dollar franchise for today's kids, I'm sure I'd give the Turtles their toughest opponent to battle. Yeah, it just doesn't feel like the Turtles without Shredder around. They could've even used Krang and I'd be giddy. But nope, I get some stone statues. At least the Foot Clan were around to take/give a beating. I also didn't like April O'Neil, and I feel like the pervert inside of me will only ever like her in her 80s yellow jumpsuit. And when the hell did Casey Jones grow up? He's never been so mature, and I don't like it. The Verdict: Overall, there's great fun here and it's not to be missed. There are some nit-picky things to complain about, but they do redeem themselves in the end when the Foot Clan eludes to the return of the Shredder for the next movie. It seems like all action franchises are being written in 3's these days.
