Top 11 90's Fads
(This Top 11 List was suggested by Mr. Graham Slaughter)
We are almost an entire decade ahead of that horrible decade known as the 90's. The 90's were plagued by bad music, cheap gimmicks, and an attempt to make everything more "bad-ass". So let's take a look at just what the fuck was wrong circa 1990-99.

11. Grunge - I went on a big Cobain rant recently and I stand my ground. If grunge really did kill hair metal then why is Whitesnake still on tour?

10. Spice Power - I would've slept with them all regardless of the fact that they had their own bubble gum. Bubble gum! They really had their own "Spice Girls Bubble Gum"!

9. The Death of Superman - In late '92 DC Comics killed Superman only to bring him back to life a few months later. It was a gimmick that made millions of dollars and tarnished the comic book industry for nearly ten years.

8. Pauly Shore - This is one fad I actually enjoyed. Son-In-Law was a great movie. The rest of his film endeavors leave much to be desired. But the world was in love with Shore for just long enough to cement his place in history.

7. Hockey Cards - In 1990 everyone was collecting hockey cards because people realized that their parents' cards from yesteryear had become valuable. What happened? The card companies printed bajillions of cards to keep up with the demand and they became worthless. When kids realized they were spending $3 for a pack of cards that were only worth 50 cents the fad quickly died out.

6. Rap-Metal - Popularized by bands like Limp Bizkit and Korn, this musical fad came as fast as it went.

5. Pepsi Clear - All that great Pepsi taste and sugar, but for some reason it was clear. Still not as bad as our next fad-drink...

4. Orbitz - This drink actually had floating chunky things in it. Sure sounds appetizing to me!

3. TV on the big screen - For some reason people thought it was a brilliant idea to make movies of The Brady Bunch, The Addams Family, and The Beverly Hillbillies. Oh how very wrong they were.

2. Lilith Fair - In the mid-90s it seemed like every girl had a guitar and a message. And they all got together at Lilith Fair to bash men as a collective unit. Then Britney Spears debuted in '99 and all their hard work was completely forgotten.

1. Hypercolor T-Shirts - When you touched the fabric on these shirts they would change color where your hands were. That led to many girls walking around with hand prints (sometimes their own if they were less than attractive) on their chest. As a thirteen year old boy, seeing a girl in a hypercolor shirt was the most exciting thing in the world.

It's hard to predict what the fads of the 00's will be. We really won't know until about nine years from now when we start looking back at this decade and realize how retarded we were for watching So You Think You Can Dance.
