Top 11 Video Games
Grab your Power Glove and a bag full of quarters, 'cause today we're looking at the greatest eleven video games ever made.
#11 - Bad Dudes
Your mission is to rescue the president from terrorists. It won't be easy though. You and your twin must battle on top of trucks and in the forest, fighting off terrorist ninjas and weapon masters. If you're lucky you might get a weapon yourself. Every time you complete a level you can exclaim "I'm Bad!", cause mother fucker you are!
I have never actually finished this game and I refuse to use a cheat code on it either. I've been playing it off and on for nearly twenty years. Someday I'll beat it.
#10 - Super Mario Bros. 3
Debuting in the movie The Wizard Super Mario 3 does it's best to ignore everything that happened in the horrible second installment of the series and gets us back to Mario basics. That doesn't mean we're playing the same game over again. No, the Princess has been captured for sure, but this time you have a variety of different worlds to whistle through. Desserts, Ice lands, and Air Ships are in your way, but what Bowser doesn't know is that this time our hero and his plumber brother have learned to fly.
#9 - Wrestlefest
I used to get kicked out of a convenience store as a kid for being too loud playing this machine. The last time I played Wrestlefest would probably be in 1999, and at that point I would assume I'd put over 400 quarters into this game. Your goal is to take your tag team all the way to fight the Legion of Doom. You can be all the Superstars from early 90s wrestling, including Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, Mr. Perfect, Earthquake, Demolition, and more.
If you aren't a fan of tag team wrestling, then you can play the Royal Rumble feature and have it out with every other wrestler in the game. Four players can compete at the same time for bragging rights.
#8 - Rad Racer
The premise of Rad Racer is simple. You get to drive a wicked-cool car and you have to get to the finish line before time runs out. And make sure you don't get smashed up. Rad Racer was the first game I played when I re-built my Nintendo. The music is jumping and at any point you can expect hot chicks to wanna join you in gameplay just to get a ride in your babe magnet.
#7 - NHL '94
Hockey was never as popular as it was in '94. The hockey card craze of Canada was at it's peak and everywhere you turned you could see fans of the Leafs and the Habs arguing over who was the crown jewel in the country's hockey department. I was stupid enough to be a Leafs fan back in the day, but that doesn't mean I'd cheer for the Habs today. I will NEVER cheer for the Montreal Canadiens. Oh, about the game... you can play as every NHL team, with real players and stats, go through the playoffs and win the Stanley Cup.
#6 - Double Dragon II
While the original Double Dragon game is so iconic in the arcade, it suffered on home consoles because it turned into a one-player game. Enter Double Dragon II. Your girlfriend gets kidnapped again, but this time you have help on your mission. Double Dragon II expands and improves on everything that Double Dragon was. You can do flying spin kicks for Chirst's sake! Different difficulty levels and excellent music make you think you can actually win a fight in real life.
#5 - Blades Of Steel
Makes the pass! Faceoff! Fight!
Those are three religious words in the realm of video game hockey. Blades Of Steel made more sense than real hockey did. In the game, if you win a fight the other guy goes to the penalty box and you're free to keep playing. There is a secret spot in the game where you can score from every time, but I won't tell you where it is, in case we ever are forced to play each other. During the intermission you can even play a quick demo of Contra. How sweet is that? Really sweet, baby.
#4 - Rock N' Roll Racing
Aliens in cars that shoot missles is one thing. But add some of the greatest rock songs of all time as the soundtrack and you have a definite winner. Then throw in color commentary from Larry, and some weapon upgrades. You're starting to get all tingly inside, aren't you?
My favorite character to use was Tarquin, and for some reason I always had a yellow car. If you hold down the L and R and Select buttons when choosing a character you can unlock Olaf, the viking.
#3 - Guitar Hero II
Guitar Hero II is the mother of all interactive video games. You actually have a guitar in your hands when you're playing. There isn't a person out there who doesn't like at least a few of the songs in the game, and it's a great game to play at parties while drinking. Then you can feel like a real rock star. Finish the game by wow-ing the crowd with your rendition of Freebird, and then take all your groupies into the shower with you.
#2 - Super Mario Bros.
This is the cartridge that started it all. There wasn't any game before Mario that captured the hearts of everyone on the planet. Mario is sent to save the Princess from the evil Bowser, and along the way everything is trying to kill him. Collect coins, eat magic mushrooms, and throw fireballs as you squish, kick, and run your way to the end. Grab a magic star to become invincible for a little time of freedom. Dudes love this game. Chicks love this game. Fuck, your PARENTS even like to play Mario. It truly is the game that everyone can agree on.
#1 - Bubble Bobble
I choose Bubble Bobble as the greatest game of all time. You might disagree and say Super Mario Bros., and your argument is very valid, but you really have to pay attention in Mario games, while Bubble Bobble actually absorbs you into the game. The repetitive music and bubbles everywhere suck you in until you realize you forget the magic item that transports you to the end of the game. And to think, you just finished level 99 and thought it was over. Sucker! Go back and try it all over again.
