The Addict
Written by Searrah Bucci

Oh sweet Surrender,
Your name is unbeknownst to me.
Another vague whisper
Ensnared within the cobwebs of my vacant mind.
Your voice, but a forgotten tune,
The cliched lyrics echo,
Resounding off the hollow walls,
Twisting, swirling down the empty hallways
Losing their way in my subconscious.
The diseased insects crawl within my flesh;
Skin breaks with each new lasceration I make.
I claw away, but they refuse to leave.
I am their human host,
If only in my mind.
Oh, sweet Surrender,
Your achromatic voice echoes
These white lines cannot subdue your words,
These lovely needles cannot quell my tears.
